Day 1[]

First Arrival[]

Gabriella: Hello. My name's Gabriela.

I'm in charge around here while my father is away on a business trip.

He went back east for a scrog-breedin' convention...

But with the supply train interrupted, he's havin' a devil of a time makin' it back.

That's why I'm temporarily in charge here as village mayor.

Russ: This is Dillon, the ranger, and I'm Russ, his sidekick.

Gabriella: YOU'RE the ranger? Is this some kind of joke?

Russ: What? It's as much a joke as the idea of you being a village mayor!

Gabriella: Hmm, Dad always says I should be a little more tactful when I speak...

But we'll see who the joke is over the next three days, won't we?

Is it the kid ranger, or the young village mayor?

Russ: Sigh...

Gabriella: Alright, let's get to business. We've sighted a new grock. It looks like a walkin' volcano.

And, we're runnin' critically short of medicine and other sundries around here.

We've been prayin' that there won't be any more burns or injuries.

Look, I want to give you this talisman for luck. It's an old village relic.

Prep Time[]

Russ: Dillon... What do you think about that girl back there?

For her to snarl at us like that... She's got some nerve!

And does she think giving us that junky old necklace will smooth things over?

Hm? Let me see. It looks like it has some kind of mole critter carved into it...

Wait... Is this what I think it is?! It must be...

The talisman has stimulated Dillon's hippocampus.

Dillon has learned the tunnel attack battle skill!

Slide the stylus on the Touch Screen and press and hold the L/R Button.

When Dillon dives into the ground, release the stylus.

After tunneling underground, if you release the L/R Button under the enemy's feet...

You will burst out of theground and attack!

This is particularly effective against grocks that are hard to hit with a roll attack!

You can review the controls for this attack in the Game Guide section.

Russ: It looks a lot like that other talisman you got, doesn't it?

Hmm. That girl... she's nicer than I thought.

With the grocks getting stronger and stronger...

A good luck charm that gives you skills like this should help you avoid injuries!

Free Time (Saloon) Day 1[]

Gabriela: Welcome back, ranger.

I apologise for callin' you a "kid" ranger.

It seems the talisman worked wonders. I'm pleased with the results.

Russ: What in the world... You seem like you're in a totally different mood tonight.

Gabriela: I'll admit, I was pretty stressed out when the raid first started.

I mean, had all our scrogs been eaten, then the bloodline would be finished!

The prize-winnin' line of pedigreed Doublehill Scrogs would be extinct!

Russ: What're you talking about?

Gabriela: The Doublehill Scrogs!

...What? Is somethin' funny?

Russ: No... it's nothing. I'm not laughing...

Gabriela: Really?! What's with that smirk on your face?

Russ: Nothing. Really!

Gabriela: I was tryin' to be nice and thank you guys. Thanks for derailin' the conversation!

Russ: Sorry...

Gabriela: What about you, armadillo ranger? Don't you ever talk?

Russ: Um, only rarely.

Gabriela: I see... Well, I hope we see you in action again tomorrow.

Day 2[]

Prep Time[]

Russ: Morning, Dillon!

I've been thinking about the grocks that wear the mask-like things on their heads...

I wonder... did they make those masks themselves?

Anyway, those masks sure do reduce the effectiveness of your roll attack.

If you're not careful, the battle could drag on, which is really a waste of time.

During the big attack on the third day, even a moment of extra time could be critical.

So if you don't already have an idea on how to beat them quickly, let's figure it out!

Free Time (Saloon) Day 2[]

Gabriela: Welcome back, ranger.

What was that humongous grock last night? I wish my dad could be here to see it!

That thing makes me wonder even more why Governor Cappy won't call in the army.

Russ: Yeah...We asked him once but...

he said, "The frontier folk will protect the frontier."

It doesn't make any sense... I guess we're on our own, huh?

Gabriela: We're used to it. So far, we've been taking care of things by ourselves.

I'm not scared. We'll make it through these raids, too...

But... I'll never get used to these things, these... grocks...

Day 3[]

Prep Time[]

Russ: Dillon, today is the day the train arrives!

You won't be able to use the tunnel while the train is going through...

That's because there's no room for you to squeeze through with the train...

You'll just have to take the long way around.

Make sure you've raised as many scrogs as possible, and build up the village gates.

It's the last day! Let's show everyone what a "kid" ranger can do!

Free Time (Saloon) Day 3[]

Gabriela: You made it back, ranger! I hope you're not hurt!

The train arrived. All of the villagers are ecstatic!

The village is safe, and now that the train is runnin', my father can make it home.

Thank you, Dillon. Russ, thank you as well.

Russ: Well, you are very welcome.

Gabriela: You know, I learned how to shoot back at the Eastern Academy...

I would have loved to help out in the battle, even just a little bit.

Russ: Hah hah! Well, there was plenty of room for you to help us out there...

Gabriela: Oh?...Right... I guess there was!

I just couldn't bring myself to jump in yesterday... Maybe next time?

After ending the day:

Gabriela: So, tomorrow you'll be headin' to the next frontier station, right?

Russ: Hmm, we haven't decided.

We might head straight for the next station...

Or we might take the side road and help out some of the smaller, outlying villages.

Gabriela: You two really are pretty wonderful creatures.

Russ: Oh, really? What about you? You're pretty terrific, too.

We've only been here for three days...

but you are always here, always doing your best to protect the village.

It's probably just as tough to pour your heart and soul into running a village.

Gabriela: My... Was that a compliment about my abilities as mayor?

I think I learned a lot from you two about leadership. Thank you, both of you.

I hope that someday you can meet my father. Maybe next time you're in town?

Good night, Dillon. Good night, Russ.
